To successfully complete this qualification, students must gain practical experience in health and social care settings:

📌 Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Healthcare Practice
✔ Minimum 225 hours of work experience or placement
✔ Completion of a Professional Learning and Development (PLAD) portfolio, including reflective accounts

📌 Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Healthcare Practice
✔ Additional 225 hours of work experience or placement
✔ Continuation of the PLAD portfolio with reflective accounts

Total Work Experience Requirement:
A minimum of 450 hours over the two-year qualification period.

Funding Your Study

You can apply for financial assistance with your fees through the government by visiting gov.uk/studentfinance. Support may include a Tuition Fee Loan, Maintenance Loan, or Maintenance Grant.

– Tuition Fee Loan: This loan covers your upfront fees and is paid directly to your university or college. Repayment starts only after you finish your course and are earning £26,575 a year or more. Both full-time and part-time students can apply.

– Maintenance Loan: If eligible, you can also apply for a Maintenance Loan, which is paid directly into your bank account at the start of each term. Repayment begins after you complete your course and earn £26,575 or more annually. For more information, visit gov.uk/studentfinance.

– Maintenance Grants: These grants are deposited into your bank account at the start of term and do not require repayment. However, any grant amount received will reduce the Maintenance Loan you are eligible for.
